Taking time to see & smell the flowers
On Memorial Day Emma and I went to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens with my parents. It was a beautiful day and the weather was perfect. I have always enjoyed walking around and looking at flowers, but I wasn't really sure how Emma was going to like it. She had a great time! She would tell us what color all the flowers were, she would touch them and let us know if they were soft, fuzzy, hard, sharp or yucky. They even have a Children's Garden where they had a little village and a water play area and a massive sand box along with a big tree house. Here are a few pictures from the day.

As for me and how I am doing.....I went back to work Monday and am just trying to go from moment to moment. I have discovered that I seem to do better when I am alone or just with my family. I don't do crowds right now. People want to talk about it and I really just don't want to. So I have been going to work and shutting myself in my office. I tried to do some shopping and just couldn't get myself into it. I really would like to just hole up in my house, but that isn't practical. I have to have more lab work done today and again next week to make sure that my body is doing what they say it is supposed to do.
Anyway - thank you again everyone for all of your prayers.

Looks like you had a lovely time at the gardens. That is always one of my favorite places too. Emma is so sweet and cute.
Gorgeous pictures! I just love the orchids too!
It looked like Emma had a ball, I just love the days when they get wore completely out. It always makes me feel like I did something good as a mom. Know what I mean?
Still praying for you. Don't be so hard on yourself for not wanting to be around people, you have to take the time to grieve and to heal in your own way.
The pictures are beautiful! I am so glad that you hooked up to my blog through Brandies. Anyway, it's nice to meet you.
P.S. My prayers are with you and your family right now. I am so sorry for your loss.
What a fun little trip. Emma really seems to be enjoying herself. We continue to pray for all of you, especially you Elaina! Love you.

i'm still praying for you. you will get through this in your own timing. there is no right or wrong way to grieve. but always remember the Lord is right beside you every step of the way even if you don't understand His plans. He will never leave you or forsake you and His love for you never changes!
