My Sanity

Emma has never really been one to enjoy being strapped into the car and going for a ride. She always seems to get upset over her shirt riding up, her pants sliding down, the straps are too tight, she can't get her leg up......you get the idea. There are some days that by the time we got where ever we were going, I thought I would loose my mind from her fussiness.

For Christmas she got a Leapster. She kinda played with it, but of course there were so many other new things to do, that she didn't really pay it a whole lot of attention. Plus, we have never let her play games on the computer and she had never had any type of handheld gaming devise (like a GameBoy), so she really wasn't sure what to do with it. Then she saw Ethan with his one night and when we got home she wanted her "thing like what Ethan has". We gave it to her and showed her how to do a couple of things and within a week, she had mastered not only that, but had figured out how to do even more on it. She always asks for it before she uses it and she knows that if she misbehaves it will get taken away. But her favorite place to use it is in the car. So now, instead of listening her being fussy, I get to hear the music of the Leapster and her joy when she does something right. Ahhhh, sanity restored! :-)

Thank you Aunt Tricia for a wonderful gift, not only for Emmaline, but for her mommy as well!

I don't know how I've lived without a van DVD player for so long. We just got a newer van with one--it's amazing how the car mood has changed. Car sanity is MUY IMPORTANTE!

Allison loves her Leapfrog too and it has provided moments of sanity as well. Sorry I missed last night. See ya next week.

I know what you mean girl! I'm very thankful the kids like their nintendos. It gives me a few moments of peace(well except maybe for the twins who don't have one).
