Flower Power
I finally got some flowers planted in my pots last night. This year I had to replace all the soil that was still in them, so the process took a little longer than it usually does. I also usually put either impatiens or geraniums in these pots every year, but I decided to plant Angel Wing Begonias this year. My SIL plants them every year and they get huge. So I thought I would give it a try. I also managed to plant some coleus (did I spell that right?) in with my shrubs and holly trees. They do pretty good there in the shade as long as the neighbors dogs stay out of them. I still have more flowers to plant - but that will have to wait for another day. :-)
I also have some peonies that I just love. Every year I wonder if they are going to come back. They did!!!! And I had the first bloom over the week-end. For some reason the bigger of the two bushes has few blooms every year than the little one. Here is a pic of the first bloom.
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. We just about froze here in Kentucky. But it was nice to spend the entire week-end with my girl. I loved on her a lot :-)

Beautiful flowers! I can't wait to get mine all planted. It seems like once that happens, spring has OFFICIALLY arrived and summer is not far behind!
That big pink bloom is gorgeous!
I love the flowers, I keep saying that I am going to plant some but I have not yet, maybe one day soon.
I planted the SAME things in my pots, but I added a couple wave petunias. I was like a kid in a candy store at Wal-Mart picking out LOADS of flowers (I'll omit the total cost of my bill). Flowers just make me happy! Hope you had a super weekend!
The flowers look great! And I love the pots...I would love to find some like that (I had one that was stone and really heavy but it started to fall apart).
It makes such a difference when you have flowers surrounding you, doesn't it!!
Your flowers look beautiful. I don't know the first thing about the names and such you mentioned, but it sounds like lots of fun. Glad you finally got to work in the yard and scratch some things off your to do list. Happy belated Mother's Day.
What gorgeous flowers! I just love the peonies!
