Dance Recital

Emmaline had her first dance recital on April 25th. She wasn't feeling good because of the reaction to her antibiotics, but she was a real trooper.

They had their rehearsal about four days before the recital. It was pretty funny to watch them.

Emmaline really had the moves goin on! Now if they could only get all the girls to do them at the same time :-)

The day of rehearsal was beautiful. It had not been very warm yet so it was lovely to wake up to blue skies and warm temps that day. We had to get down to the theater early and wait outside in the alley for a bit before it was time to send all of the girls inside.

Here is Emma "practicing" before her big moment. Of course, I don't actually ever remembering seeing this particular dance step during rehearsal.

All the little ballerinas lined up and ready to go.

Here is Emmaline with her little buddy Allison. They had a great time this year dancing together. I hope they are able to dance again together next year.By the time we went to go get some pictures of her with us, she wasn't feeling too get. But we managed to get a few smiles.

I tried to get some pics of the actual performance, but they did not come out well at all. Afterwards, we walked over to see the fountain and she had her picture taken with Mimi and Papa. She felt pretty special that they were here and able to come see her perform.

You couldn't tell from the pictures how rotten she had been feeling. She seemed to really get into the dance. She looks adorable in that costume. I was disapointed with Cassidy's costume this year. Maybe we could get them into dance on the same day around the same time this next year. Then we would be able to see each other at least one day a week. But I will have to warn you that I travel with my own circus.

What little dolls! There are few things cuter than a bunch of tiny ballerinas. Emma looks like she was quite a trooper after all she had gone through! She is darling.
