She got bit!!!!!

Poor Miss Emma got bit at school!!! I still cannot believe it! I went to pick her up and noticed right away that she was not acting like herself. Then they bring me the incident report. I thought I was going to cry right then and there. Apparently one of the other little girls did not like Emma trying to open the refrigerator door on their little kitchen and just leaned over and bit her on the arm. They of course would not tell me who bit her - so I just asked Emma....and like a good girl, she told me. I just hope it never happens again!

This is how she looked when I picked her up........how sad!

I tried to get a close up picture of it - but it just would take. The bite it up close to her elbow. It didn't break the skin - but it left a bruise!

After we got home, Steven put a sticker on her arm to make her feel better and was able to get a picture of it close up. Bless her heart - she has little teeth size bruises. Every time something would touch it, she would go "Ouch, my bite hurt!"

I discovered this blog through an ebay sale she was having. You should check it out - it will make you laugh and make you feel better about you! She has six kids - yes six! ABC just recently came and did some filming at her house for a story and she is trying to write a book!
BECAUSE I SAID SO

Here is the link to the ebay sale that she had - it is pretty funny!

Pigtails

I fixed Emma's hair up in pigtails for the first time in months and thought she just looked pretty cute. I still cannot believe how much hair she has! She definitely doesn't look like a baby anymore and really hasn't for a long time now - but it still surprised me sometimes when I look at her and see a little girl. *sniff, sniff*

So before I took her in to school I managed to get a couple of pictures.

Trying to look sad so I don't take her in to school.

Cheeeeeeeeese!

What a goofy grin!

Mommy's little shopper

It is amazing how fast little ones learn things.

Over the week-end we had to go to Kohl's to exchange some clothes for Emma. Since she had been really good all day (and even went to the potty!), we let her to pick out a toy. She picked out her little toy and carried it ALL over the store as we continued to shop. When ever she wanted to look at something else, she would hand it to me or put it in the stroller and come back to get it when she was done. When we got up to the cash register, she put her toy on the counter and told the girl to scan it. After it was scanned - she turned around and looked up at me and said "Mommy pay for it." So of course Mommy paid for it and once it was in a bag, Emma proudly carried her purchase out to the van.

Here and there - Along with baby pictures

Hello everyone!!! It has been ages since I have posted anything, but life has been crazy lately. After we returned from Oklahoma, it has been non-stop. But I pray that things are going to slow down just a little bit. Of course, now that fall is just around the corner, there is going to be lots of yard work and lots of reorganizing to get the summer clothes put away and fall clothes out. And then there is Thanksgiving and holiday shopping and Christmas..... WHEW!!!!! I guess it just never stops!

Well I hope that everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather that we have been having. I for one - LOVE IT!!!!! Sunday is the first day of Fall and right now the forecast is calling for sun and temps in the low 90's! Is this what our grandparents used to call 'Indian Summer'?

Emma has been busy herself lately.....busy getting into mischief and being sassy to be exact. I was trying to get her to come and get dressed one morning last week and she kept running away and telling me no, so I finally told her "I said to come on and get your clothes on." to which she replied...."But I said no!" I can say that I did manage to keep from laughing even though it really should not have been funny. But in fact it was pretty hilarious. Needless to say, she was dressed within the next 10 minutes :-) A couple of days after that as I was driving her to school she was singing 'Old Daniel Farm' (for some reason she won't say McDonald), and apparently on that farm there is a Mommy..............with a no-no here, a no-no there, here a no, there a no, everywhere a no-no! I think I am getting a reputation!!!! But again - it was pretty funny!

Tonight I finally got the opportunity to spend an evening with Jody and the babies. I picked Emma up from school and away we went. Unfortunately, Emma was tired and a little on the grumpy side, so it took her a couple of hours to warm up to the idea of not going home. She also was not happy with me holding the babies. She kept telling me to put the baby back. ;0)

Here are a couple of pictures of Zane & Zoe:

Sleeping peacfully - side by side.

Both of them had been fussing until we laid them side by side and they hooked their arms together. Then they stopped!

Zane really liked being all wrapped up with his sister. Zoe on the other had, wasn't too keen on it. She wanted to wiggle!

Cassidy the proud big sister. She just loves 'her' baby!

Since things have been so busy - I haven't been taking pictures of Emma. But now that Fall Festival is over with, and life and get back to 'normal chaotic', I will hopefully have something more interesting to post soon and have some new pictures of her.

Home again Home again....

Well, we made it home from Oklahoma in one piece (us and the furniture). The new route was wonderful and we plan on taking it again the next time we go to see Grandma. We were able to spend most of Sunday afternoon with my grandmother and she spent a lot of it reading to Emma (I have pictures that I will post later). We left right before dinner and hit the road. We stayed at a really nice little hotel called the Honeysuckle Inn, and got up and headed back out after a quick breakfast. We were able to make it back to Kentucky, get unloaded and visit with family before we pulled in our driveway at 8:30. It was wonderful to be home!!!!

I have some great news!!!!! Jody was able to bring the babies home yesterday! She was able to start breastfeeding them on Saturday and they did really well, so on Monday, she spent the night with them in her room. They didn't eat as well, and even lost a little bit of weight overnight, but they were allowed to finally go home. Zoe was back up to her birth weight and Zane was just a couple of oz. shy of his. Not bad for preemies! I would love to post some pictures of them, but since I am sick, I can't go anywhere near them! I am hoping that by the week-end I am better, but I may wait till next week, just to be sure. Please keep them in your prayers, and Jody as well as she is still recovering from her surgery and also has a seven and a five year old to take care of.

Story Time with Great Granny

GREETINGS FROM OKLAHOMA!

Bright and early Friday morning we piled in the van and made our annual trek to see my grandmother. This year, due to her breaking her hip, we get to visit her at her new apartment in the assisted living nursing home. Her hip is healing nicely and she doesn't get to do as much as she used to, but overall she is doing pretty good. She is sad about not being able to live on her own, but that is to be expected.

We stopped in to see her as soon as we got into town last night and went over there again this morning and stayed to eat lunch with her in the dining room (the food was actually very good!). Today while we were there, Emma decided to share her books with Great Granny.

We will go back and see her again tomorrow after church and we are thinking about leaving tomorrow night to start the long drive home. We are pulling a trailer on my van with some of my grandma's "stuff" (as she calls it) and it is going to take us longer than usual to make the trip.

Hope everyone is having a great holiday week-end!

BTW - I talked to Jody today and the babies are still holding their own. They are both now back on feeding tubes as they just won't eat enough yet on their own. As a result of them not eating enough, they are not gaining much weight. So they are going to be in the NICU for a little while longer.
